Audi Q2 Fan Issue Draining Battery

I own a 2018 Audi Q2 with a Diesel engine and 58,750 km on the clock. I'm experiencing a problem where the fan doesn't turn off after the engine is switched off, which drains my battery unless I unplug it. The temperature doesn't rise at all, and the check engine light is on. Once I reconnect the battery, the car runs normally until I park, and then the fan kicks in again. Each time, I have to unplug the battery (minus). What could be causing this issue, and how can I fix it?

Summary of the thread

The 2018 Audi Q2 is experiencing an issue where the fan continues to run after the engine is turned off, leading to battery drainage. This problem is accompanied by the check engine light being on, although the engine temperature remains normal. A potential cause could be a faulty coolant temperature sensor, which might be sending incorrect signals to the fan. Inspecting the sensor for damage or loose connections and testing it with a mechanic's help is suggested to resolve the issue.

Check if the coolant temperature sensor is functioning properly, as a faulty sensor can cause the fan to run continuously. If the sensor is defective, it may send incorrect signals to the fan, causing it to stay on. Inspect the sensor for any visible damage or loose connections. If you're unsure, consider having a mechanic test it. Let me know how it goes or if you have any further questions!
