Audi Q2 Oil Warning Chaos After Service Visit

I recently got my Audi Q2 (2023, gasoline, 38293km) back from service and now having issues with multiple warnings. The oil pressure warning is on, plus other error messages in the speedometer. The automotive oil sensor seems to be acting up. Anyone dealt with similar oil detection problems on their Q2? Last mechanic visit wasnt great, so looking for advice before going back. Could this be just a faulty oil sensor or something more serious?

I experienced similar automotive oil warning issues with my Audi Q5 2020 gasoline model. The oil signal warnings started appearing right after a routine service, indicating a potential fault in the wiring system rather than an actual oil pressure problem. The root cause turned out to be a damaged cable harness connecting to the oil pressure sensor. During maintenance work, the wiring had been accidentally pinched, creating intermittent connection issues. This triggered multiple false warnings, including the oil detection system alerts. The repair involved: Testing the faulty sensor connections, Replacing the damaged wiring harness, Recalibrating the oil pressure monitoring system, Clearing all error codes While not a severe mechanical issue, it required immediate attention to prevent potential engine damage from running with unreliable oil pressure readings. When experiencing multiple warning lights after service, its often related to electrical connections rather than mechanical problems. The fix wasnt particularly complex, but required proper diagnostic equipment to identify the exact point of failure in the wiring. Always have the car maintenance done at a shop with proper Audi diagnostic tools to avoid misdiagnosis.

Thanks for sharing your experience with the oil sensor issue. I had exactly the same problems with my Q2 last year. Those false warnings from the faulty sensor were really concerning at first. The oil gauge kept showing incorrect readings which made me nervous about potential engine damage. Did you remember roughly how much the repair cost you? My bill seemed a bit high for what was essentially an oil detection system fix. Also curious if youve had any similar sensor issues pop up since the repair was done?

After getting my Q2 fixed at the workshop, the oil level sensor issue was completely resolved. The repair cost came to 95 Euro, which covered fixing a faulty cable connection to the oil detection system. Since the repair, all the warning lights have stayed off and the engine oil readings are now consistently accurate. Looking back, the cost was reasonable considering they had to diagnose the exact connection problem in the oil signal system. The mechanics found the issue was a damaged plug connection that was causing the sensor to send incorrect readings to the dashboard. The automotive oil sensor has been working perfectly for months now, with no repeat issues or false warnings. It was definitely worth getting it properly diagnosed and fixed rather than risking any potential engine problems from unreliable oil level readings.

Thanks for the helpful advice. I took my Q2 to a different mechanic who actually specialized in engine oil monitoring systems. Turns out you were right, it was just a damaged wire causing the oil sensor to misread. The repair was straightforward and cost 120 Euro. They found a pinched wire near the oil detection unit that got damaged during the previous service. The mechanic showed me where the faulty sensor wiring was and explained how it triggered those false warnings. After fixing the wire and resetting the system, all warning lights cleared up. The oil gauge now shows correct readings and no more unusual alerts. Been driving for 2 weeks now without any issues. Really glad it wasnt a serious engine problem like I initially feared.
