Audi Q2 SRS Warning Light Signals Airbag System Alert

Need advice for SRS light staying on in my Q2. The airbag warning lamp suddenly started showing up in the dash and wont go away. Anyone had similar issues? Running a 2023 Audi Q2 diesel with 68575km and wondering if this requires immediate attention or if its a common fault. Had some questionable work done at my last mechanic visit, so looking for recommendations on how to handle potential airbag repair. Main concern is whether its safe to drive until I get it checked.

Running an Audi Q3 35 TDI from 2020, I experienced the exact same restraint system warning. The SRS light appeared suddenly and remained constantly illuminated. This requires immediate attention as it indicates the airbag system might not function properly during a collision. The issue turned out to be a faulty connection in the airbag sensor wiring under the driver seat, which is a known weak point in several Audi models. The repair involved testing the entire airbag system with diagnostic equipment, as the SRS light can indicate multiple issues including: Loose airbag sensor connections, Damaged wiring harness, Faulty clock spring, Compromised airbag control module In my case, the technician found corroded pins in the wiring connector. The airbag repair required replacing the complete sensor assembly and recalibrating the system. This was classified as a safety-critical repair. Continue driving only if absolutely necessary until inspection. The airbag system might fail to deploy in case of an accident. Schedule a diagnostic check with a qualified technician who has experience with VAG airbag systems.

Thanks for sharing your experience with the restraint system issue. The crash sensor problem in my Q2 turned out quite similar. Good to know about the safety implications since the airbag deployment system is critical. Quick question, do you recall the total repair cost for your case? Just wondering about the price range for this type of vehicle safety fix. Also, has everything worked properly since the repair, or have you noticed any other warning lights?

Had the same concern about automotive safety with my Q3 initially, but happy to report the airbag system works flawlessly since the repair. The mechanic found a loose connection in the crash sensor wiring which was causing the SRS warning light. Total cost was 95 Euro to fix the defective cable connection, much less than I expected for an airbag sensor repair. No warning lights or issues in the 8 months since the fix. The airbag deployment system has been functioning correctly according to the diagnostic tests. Always good to address these vehicle safety warnings promptly, even if the repair ends up being relatively simple like in both our cases.

I took it to my regular workshop last week to get the SRS light issue sorted. The airbag sensor repair was straightforward, they found a loose connection in the wiring harness under the seat, just like you mentioned. Total bill came to 120 Euro for diagnostic work and fixing the connection. Car safety being the priority, I was relieved it wasnt a major fault with the airbag deployment system itself. The mechanic showed me the corroded connector that was causing the problem. Since the repair, no warning lights have appeared and the system checks confirm everything is working properly. Good call on suggesting immediate attention, better safe than sorry when it comes to automotive safety systems. Thanks again for helping point me in the right direction with this issue.
