Thanks for the detailed info on the sunroof troubleshooting. My Q2 had similar issues last year and the symptoms match exactly. Quick question, do you remember roughly what you paid for the entire repair? Also curious if youve had any other sunroof problems since the fix? My sunroof reset and repair ended up being pretty costly so Im wondering how it compares.

Just got back from having similar sunroof troubleshooting done on my Q3. The main issue was a Sunroof not initialized error, which thankfully got resolved through software recoding. Total cost was 75 Euro for the programming work, which seems reasonable compared to a full module replacement. The vehicle sunroof system has worked perfectly since the repair, no more stuck sunblind or frozen controls. The sunroof operation is now completely smooth after the recalibration. Much simpler fix than initially expected, as it didnt require any physical part replacements like in some cases. Unlike your experience, my repair costs stayed quite low since it only needed the coding adjustment. For proper automobile sunroof maintenance, regular calibration checks seem worthwhile to prevent bigger issues down the line.

After hearing about your repair costs, I definitely overpaid at my shop. Finally took my Q2 to a certified dealer last week for the sunroof troubleshooting. The total repair came to 890 Euro, they replaced the entire control module and did a full sunroof calibration. The service took about 5 hours. While the cost stings, the vehicle sunroof works perfectly now. The sunblind moves smoothly and the controls respond instantly. The technician showed me the old module which had visible water damage, likely from a small leak that developed over time. Learned my lesson about waiting too long to address sunroof system issues. Regular maintenance checks would have caught this earlier and probably saved me money. At least the repair comes with a 2-year warranty on parts and labor.

Experienced this exact sunroof system malfunction on my 2018 Audi Q3. The sunroof mechanism completely stopped responding, with the sunblind jammed halfway. The automobile sunroof calibration was indeed the core issue, but it turned out more complex than initially assumed. The problem stemmed from a faulty sunroof control module requiring both software recoding and component replacement. The sunroof operation was restored after: Full diagnostic scan, Control module replacement, Complete sunroof mechanism recalibration, Software update to the comfort system This repair required specialized Audi diagnostic equipment for proper sunroof calibration. While not the most expensive repair, it definitely needed professional attention from a certified technician due to the complex integration with the vehicle electronics. For newer Audi models like yours, these sunroof control issues often indicate similar module problems. Would strongly recommend having it diagnosed at a certified shop with proper diagnostic capabilities, as generic scanners might not properly read the sunroof system codes. The repair took about 4 hours in total, and the sunroof operation has been flawless since then. This is definitely not a DIY fix given the programming requirements.
