Audi Q3 2018: Problems with engine indicator light and reduced engine power
(Translated from German)
Summary of the thread
A 2018 Audi Q3 owner is experiencing issues with the check engine light, reduced engine power, rough running, and jerky acceleration. The suspected cause is a restriction in the boost control. Suggestions from others include checking the wastegate valve actuator and inspecting the boost pressure hose for leaks, as similar issues were resolved by addressing these components. The owner plans to have the boost pressure hose checked first, hoping for a simple and cost-effective solution.

Hi, thanks for sharing your experience with me. I have a 2018 Audi Q3 with 35800 km on the odometer. The car is gasoline powered and so far I've never had any issues with it. I have been doing regular maintenance, but this particular problem is throwing me completely off track. It's quite a house number though :( I will have it checked though, if that solves my engine problem it would be worth it!

Hi, I also had a similar problem with my 2017 Audi TT. In my case, it was precisely the functional restriction of the boost pressure control that caused all the excitement. Apart from the very similar symptoms, I even had trouble reaching high speeds on the highway. At the garage, they checked the hose that regulates the boost pressure and found that it was leaking. It was losing pressure and as a result the engine power was dropping. Once they had replaced the hose, the problem was actually solved. The engine ran smoothly again and the indicator light went out. The repair didn't cost me as much as it did THeldFan. It was only 390 euros for the diagnosis, the new part and the mechanic's time. I seems like it was a pretty simple repair. Good luck and hopefully it's nothing more serious!

Thanks for your experience! The first thing I'm going to do tomorrow is go to the garage and have the boost pressure hose checked. I really hope that this solves my problem and I don't have to have the wastegate valve actuator repaired as well. That would be a costly affair! I will keep you posted and hope for the best. Many, many thanks again for your help!

Hi, I had a similar problem with my 2016 Audi Q5. I don't know much about cars, but my garage found that the wastegate valve actuator was faulty. The repair cost me 1820 euros. But as I said, I don't know much about cars. Maybe you can tell me more about your car? I'm sure the guys here in the forum will be able to help you better.
