Audi Q7 Washer Jets Dead Despite Full Fluid Tank

Looking for advice on my 2019 Audi Q7 (gas, 167829km). The warning light for the windshield washer fluid keeps showing up even though the tank is full. The spray jets arent working at all. Already got an error code read but my previous mechanic experience wasnt great. Has anyone dealt with similar issues? What did your repair shop find and how much did it cost to fix? Thanks for any insights.

Had the exact same issue on my 2016 Audi Q5 2.0T. The wiper fluid warning light stayed on despite a full tank. After inspection, the problem was traced to two issues: The windshield washer pump had failed completely, which explained why no fluid was coming through the spray jets. Additionally, the fluid level sensor was faulty, causing false warning light alerts. The repair required: Replacement of the windshield washer pump unit, New fluid level sensor installation, System bleeding to remove air pockets, Testing of spray pattern and jet alignment This was not a serious mechanical issue but needed immediate attention since proper windshield cleaning is essential for safe driving. The wiper system failure can be dangerous in bad weather or when dealing with road debris. You will need to visit a repair shop as this isnt a DIY fix, the pump location and electrical connections require specific tools and expertise. The parts are readily available and its a common repair for Audi models. Recommend getting it checked soon, as driving without a working wiper fluid system can lead to visibility issues, especially during winter or on highways.

Thanks for sharing your experience. I had pretty much the same problem on my Q7 with the washer motor giving up and the dashboard light constantly flashing. A bit concerned that this might be a recurring issue with these models. Can you remember roughly how much you ended up paying for the full repair? Also wondering if the warning light or spray jets have given you any trouble since the fix? I am planning to take mine in next week but would like to have a rough idea of the costs involved before I commit to anything.

Had the repair done 3 months ago and everything is working perfectly since then. The washer fluid warning light hasnt appeared again and the spray jets are functioning as they should. The system was properly bled after the fix, which seems to have prevented any recurring issues. The total repair cost was actually quite reasonable at 25 Euro, which covered fixing the low washer fluid level and resetting the warning light. Much less than I initially expected when the dashboard light first started acting up. Make sure your mechanic checks both the pump and sensor during inspection, as either component can trigger these symptoms. The warning light issues are usually resolved completely once properly diagnosed and fixed. Based on my experience, its worth getting it sorted to avoid any visibility problems while driving.

Thanks for the input. Finally got my Q7 fixed last week and wanted to share my experience in case others run into similar issues. The repair shop found a completely dead washer motor and a defective fluid level sensor just as suggested. The mechanic was upfront about the diagnosis and walked me through the whole repair process. Total bill came to 380 Euro including: New washer pump, Replacement sensor, Labor costs, System test The warning light disappeared right after the fix and the spray jets are working perfectly now. The shop also cleaned and adjusted the spray pattern which was a nice touch. Much better experience than my previous mechanic who kept giving me the runaround. Three days of driving so far with no warning lights or spray issues. The wiper system is working exactly as it should. Worth every cent to have proper visibility again, especially during bad weather.
