193007 KM on the odometer in my case. After taking it to a local specialist, they identified two failed suspension dampers as the root cause of my car handling issues. The front struts need complete replacement, and they recommended replacing all four for optimal suspension tuning. Looking at around 1200 Euro for parts and labor. Seems steep but the suspension failure is making the car unsafe to drive. Getting it fixed next week.

Thanks for the update on your S6. Your mileage is quite close to when I had to replace my dampers too, I was at 188000 KM when mine failed. The price you were quoted is actually reasonable for a complete set of dampers plus installation. When I had my suspension failure fixed, I also went with replacing all four dampers for better car handling and even suspension tuning. Initially wanted to save money by only replacing the failed ones, but learned that uneven damping characteristics can create more problems down the road. The total cost on my repair was around 1150 Euro, so your quote is right in line with what I paid. After the complete replacement, the difference in ride quality was remarkable, no more warning lights, proper car damping, and the suspension behaves exactly as it should. Just make sure your shop is using OEM or high-quality equivalent parts. The vehicle suspension system on these models is quite sophisticated, and lower-quality components can lead to premature failure.

Thanks to everyone who chimed in with advice. Just wanted to close the loop on my damping control issues with the S6. Got the work done last week, replaced all four dampers as recommended. Total came to 1180 Euro, pretty much what was quoted. The difference in ride comfort is incredible. No more warning lights, and the car damping is working perfectly now. The suspension system feels solid again, especially on rougher roads. Definitely the right call to replace all four rather than just the failed ones. For anyone else running into similar suspension issues around the 190000 KM mark, expect to need a full damper replacement. The improved handling and safety make it worth the investment. The car rides like new again, and the suspension failure warnings are completely gone.

While I have moderate experience with Audi models, I encountered a similar issue with my 2002 S4. The symptoms you describe match what I experienced, poor ride comfort and warning lights related to the suspension failure. In my case, the problem turned out to be a faulty wiring connection to the shock absorber control module. Car handling was severely compromised until it was fixed. The workshop diagnosed it through a complete electronic check of the vehicle suspension system. The repair involved replacing damaged wire connections and testing the electronic damping control system. Total cost was 95 Euro for the repair including diagnostics. After fixing the connection issues, the car handling returned to normal and the warning lights disappeared. However, to provide more specific guidance for your S6, it would help to know: Current mileage on the vehicle, Whether the issue developed gradually or suddenly, If you notice any difference in ride quality between cold and warm weather, Whether the warning light is constant or intermittent, If you hear any unusual noises from the suspension This information would help determine if your issue is similar to what I experienced or if other components might be involved.
