Audi S7 Fuel Pressure Issues Causing Multiple Symptoms

Thanks for the response. My S7 has 105375 KM on the clock, and my fuel rail pressure problems started shortly after the last standard service. The error code from my diagnostic scan is P0193, which confirms the fuel rail pressure sensor signal issue. The check engine light and stalling problems are definitely worse during cold starts, it takes several attempts to keep the engine running until it warms up. After that, the reduced power is still noticeable but at least the engine stalling becomes less frequent.

Thanks for providing those details. Your situation is remarkably similar to what I experienced, particularly with the P0193 code and cold start issues. On my S6, the problems also intensified after routine maintenance, suggesting possible fuel system disturbance during service. The cold start symptoms you describe perfectly match my experience with the faulty rail pressure sensor. In my case, the sensor was not only failing but also contaminated with fuel residue, which explained the increased issues during cold starts. A key point I noticed post-repair was that replacing just the sensor might not be enough. The workshop should also check the fuel pressure regulator since these components work together to maintain proper engine performance. In my case, they cleaned the entire fuel rail system while replacing the sensor, which I believe contributed to the long-term success of the repair. Given your mileage and symptoms, I would strongly suggest having both components inspected. The total cost might be slightly higher than my initial repair, possibly around 300-350 Euro, but it provides a more comprehensive fix to prevent future engine stalling issues. Would you mind sharing if youve noticed any changes in fuel consumption since these problems started? This could help confirm if the diagnosis matches my experience exactly.

Thanks for explaining your similar experience with the S6. After reading your response, I feel more confident about the diagnosis, especially since your symptoms matched mine so closely. My fuel consumption has actually increased by about 15% since these issues started, which seems to support the pressure sensor theory. I appreciate the detailed explanation about the fuel rail system cleaning. I have scheduled an appointment with my regular workshop and will definitely mention checking both the rail pressure sensor and the fuel pressure regulator. The 350 Euro estimate sounds reasonable for the complete job, especially if it includes system cleaning. This has been really helpful in understanding what to expect. At least I know the check engine warnings and cold start issues should be resolved once the fuel injection system components are properly serviced. I will make sure they do a thorough inspection of the entire fuel delivery system while they have it apart.

Had almost identical issues with my 2017 Audi S6. Being someone with basic repair knowledge, I first suspected a general fuel system problem, but it turned out the rail pressure sensor was the culprit. The symptoms matched exactly, engine stalling, poor performance, and constant check engine warnings. Took it to a workshop where they confirmed the faulty pressure sensor was sending incorrect signals to the ECU. Total repair cost was 240 Euro, which included parts and labor. The fix resolved all symptoms completely. The repair process was straightforward, they replaced the sensor and recalibrated the system. Car has been running perfectly since then, with no return of engine performance issues or warning lights. Before sharing more specific advice, could you provide: Current mileage on your S7, Any recent fuel system maintenance, Specific error codes from your diagnostic scan, Whether symptoms occur more during cold starts or warm engine This information would help determine if your issue is identical to what I experienced.
