Thanks for sharing your experience with the electrical connector issue. My climate control is now working perfectly after following your advice. The wiring harness definitely needed attention, the temperature sensor connections were completely corroded. Would you mind sharing what the total repair cost was in your case? Also curious if youve had any other climate control or air conditioning problems since getting it fixed?

Really pleased the climate control panel issue got resolved on your S6! After taking mine to the mechanic, they found similar corrosion problems with the cable connections. The fix was straightforward, just needed proper cleaning and securing of the power supply connections to the control module. Total cost came to 95 Euro for the complete repair, which seems fair given the diagnostic work needed to pinpoint the exact connection issues. The blower motor and temperature sensor are working perfectly now, no problems whatsoever with the climate control system in the 18 months since the fix. Make sure to periodically check the connections stay dry and clean to prevent future corrosion issues. A properly functioning climate control system really makes a difference in these cars.

After getting your input, I took my S8 to a trusted mechanic who was able to diagnose and fix the HVAC system issues. The electronic faults turned out to be exactly what you described, corroded wiring connections to the climate control module. Total repair cost was 120 Euro, which included cleaning all connections and replacing two damaged sections of the wiring harness. The air conditioning and heating both work perfectly now. The control panel lights up properly and all temperature settings respond correctly. Really glad I asked here first instead of going to the dealer. Saved a lot of money by knowing what to look for and being able to explain the likely issue to the mechanic. Will definitely keep an eye on those connections to prevent future problems with the climate control system.

Had a similar issue on my 2004 Audi S6 with the HVAC system completely unresponsive. The climate control panel showed no signs of life, matching your symptoms exactly. The root cause turned out to be corroded wiring connectors between the control module and the power supply. Moisture had seeped in over time, creating resistance in the connections. This affected both the heating and air conditioning functions since the blower motor wasnt receiving proper voltage. The repair involved: Removing the center console, Cleaning all connector pins, Replacing damaged wire sections, Testing the power distribution, Recalibrating the climate control module While labor-intensive, this was not a major mechanical issue. The system worked flawlessly after proper diagnosis and repair. Suggest having the error code read first, this will indicate if its truly an electrical issue or something more serious with mechanical components. Key warning signs to watch for: Intermittent operation before total failure, Flickering display before going dark, Other electrical issues in the center console Best to have this checked soon, as failed climate control can indicate broader electrical system problems that could affect other components.
