Audi SQ5 Air Suspension Failure & Uneven Ride Fix

Thanks for sharing your experience. My SQ5 has 181170 KM on the clock, with regular service intervals maintained. No odd noises preceded the issue, and the shock absorber behavior seems normal when driving. The air suspension system definitely struggles more after sitting overnight, takes longer to level and sometimes won't adjust at all. First time dealing with suspension problems on this car. Based on your repair costs, seems like I'm looking at a similar expense if the bellows valve needs replacing. Might start with a diagnostic scan to confirm before committing to the full repair.

Your situation sounds nearly identical to what I experienced. Having gone through this with my Q5, the symptoms after sitting overnight are a classic sign of air suspension failure, specifically related to the bellows valve. After my repair, learned these overnight issues happen because the system cant maintain proper ride height due to the slow air leak through the faulty valve. The diagnostic scan you mentioned would be smart, in my case it revealed error code 01583, which pointed directly to the bellows valve. The good news is your mileage is similar to when mine failed (I was at 175000 KM), so this seems to be a common wear point for these suspension systems. Since you mentioned no unusual noises, that also matches my experience and suggests the issue is isolated to the valve rather than a larger suspension problem. One tip from my repair: make sure they check all air lines while doing the valve replacement. My shop found a minor connection issue they fixed during the repair, which helped prevent future leaks in the air suspension system. Would be interested to hear what your diagnostic scan reveals. The repair cost might vary slightly from my 590 Euro, but should be in that ballpark.

Thanks everyone for the insights. After checking the diagnostic scan results, it confirmed the bellows valve issue, got the same 01583 code mentioned. The pneumatic suspension problems match what others experienced, especially the overnight air leak symptoms affecting ride height. Booked it in next week for the repair. Shop quoted 620 Euro for parts and labor, which seems fair based on the feedback here. They assured me theyll inspect all air suspension components and connections during the fix to prevent future issues. Really appreciate all the help in narrowing down the problem. Will update once the repair is done to confirm if this resolved the suspension issue completely. Good to know these problems are fairly common at this mileage and fixable without major complications.

I had a very similar issue with my 2015 Q5 3.0 TFSI last winter. Having some experience with air suspension systems, I recognized the symptoms right away. The warning lights and uneven ride height were identical to your description. My air suspension system had a faulty bellows valve that was causing air leaks, preventing proper leveling. Initially tried using diagnostic tools to pinpoint the exact location of the air leak, but ultimately needed professional help. Took it to a specialized workshop where they confirmed the air spring valve was defective. The entire repair, including parts and labor, came to 590 Euro. The fix involved replacing the valve assembly and recalibrating the ride height sensors. After the repair, the suspension worked flawlessly again. Before offering more specific advice, could you share: Current mileage on your SQ5? Did you notice any unusual noises before the issue started? Does the problem get worse after the car sits overnight? Have you had any previous air suspension repairs? This information would help determine if your issue is similar to what I experienced and whether you might be looking at the same repair solution.
