Audi SQ7 Air Suspension Fault Causing Uneven Height

Thanks for the input. Mine has 151178 KM and the last service was a routine oil change about 2000 KM ago. The air suspension issues started appearing gradually over the past month. When switching between drive modes, the ride height adjustment seems sluggish and sometimes fails completely. The load sensor readings appear inconsistent based on the scan tool data. I did notice the front right height sensor has visible corrosion, which could explain the uneven stance. I will check the control rod connection you mentioned. Good to know the repair costs were reasonable in your case. Hoping mine is also just a sensor issue rather than a complete air suspension overhaul.

Thanks for the additional details. The symptoms you describe definitely match what I experienced, especially the gradual onset and inconsistent load sensor readings. The visible corrosion on your front right height sensor is a red flag, this was exactly where my issues originated. The sluggish height adjustment response when changing drive modes is another classic sign of height sensor problems in these models. The automotive suspension system relies heavily on accurate sensor data, and corrosion can seriously impact the leveling system performance. In my case, the corrosion had spread to the wiring harness connected to the height sensor, which explained the erratic readings. While the control rod was the main culprit, we ended up replacing the entire sensor assembly to prevent future issues. The leveling system returned to normal operation immediately after. A full air suspension overhaul typically costs 10-15 times more than sensor replacement, but based on your description, that likely wont be necessary. The load sensor and height adjustment components are generally quite robust, its usually the external sensors and connections that fail first. Consider having the workshop check the wiring harness while theyre replacing the sensor. Moisture intrusion through corroded connections can cause similar symptoms and its better to address all potential issues during the same repair.

Thank you for the helpful information. I feel more confident now about the repair direction, especially knowing that others have resolved similar leveling system issues without needing a complete air suspension replacement. I scheduled an appointment with a shop that specializes in air suspension repairs. Will have them focus on the corroded height sensor and inspect the associated wiring harness and control rod. The sluggish height adjustment and uneven stance seem very similar to what you experienced with your sensor issues. Will update once the repair is complete, as the cost and diagnosis details might help others facing similar suspension issues. Really hoping the fix will be closer to the 110 Euro range rather than a full system overhaul. The fact that the problems developed gradually and match the symptoms of a faulty height sensor is encouraging. Thanks again for sharing your experience with the leveling system repair. The specific details about checking the wiring and control rod connections were particularly helpful in understanding what to expect.

Had almost the exact same issue on my 2012 S6. As someone with general maintenance experience but no suspension specialist knowledge, I can relate to this problem. The leveling sensor on my car was causing similar symptoms, uneven ride height and warning lights. The control module was receiving incorrect signals due to a faulty control rod connected to the height sensor. The workshop diagnosed it using their diagnostic system, which showed height adjustment errors. The fix was straightforward but required proper equipment. Total cost was 110 Euro for parts and labor, which seems reasonable given the specialized nature of the repair. Before suggesting specific solutions, could you provide: Current mileage, Any recent suspension work done, Whether the issue developed gradually or suddenly, If the suspension level changes when switching drive modes, If you hear any unusual noises from the suspension This would help determine if your issue matches what I experienced with the control rod replacement. The height sensors on these models can be sensitive to wear and environmental factors, so proper diagnosis is important. The suspension issue might be more complex than just a sensor problem, but starting with the height sensor system is usually the logical first step.
