Auris AC rear vent fault
Summary of the thread
The 2019 Toyota Auris hybrid experienced an issue where the AC wasn't cooling, and an error was displayed on the automatic climate control. The problem was suspected to be related to a rear ventilation flap fault. A similar issue in another vehicle was traced to a faulty connection in the rear ventilation system. Upon professional inspection, it was found that a connector for the rear vent flap was loose and corroded, which was then cleaned and repaired, resolving the issue.

A faulty connection? Where exactly on your Insignia did you find the bad connection? I'm wondering if the location is similar enough to the Auris to give me a place to start before I take it in.

In my Opel Insignia, the defective connection was within the rear passenger side C-pillar, specifically related to the air distribution system. Considering your Auris's symptoms and the stored error code, coupled with the mileage, it would be prudent to inspect all the wiring harness. I would recommend professional diagnosis at a trusted repair facility. It should be a relatively quick and inexpensive investigation.

Cheers for the tip! Took it to the shop, and you nailed it. A connector for the rear vent flap was loose and corroded. They cleaned it, replaced a small section of wiring, and cold air is back! Cost me 95€, which is way better than a whole new AC unit. Thanks again!

I understand your frustration. I don't own a Toyota, but I had a similar issue with my 2016 Opel Insignia. The symptoms you describe, including the error code and lack of cooling, mirror my experience. After investigation, including consulting wiring diagrams, the issue was traced to a faulty connection in the rear ventilation system. Have you explored a defective cable or plug connection?
