Auris airbag warning light

I have a 2013 Toyota Auris with a gasoline engine and the airbag warning lamp lights up constantly. The car has 110750 km on the clock. I've checked the fuses, but they seem fine. Could it be a defective cable or plug connection?

I had a similar problem with my Auris. The airbag light was on, and it turned out to be a faulty connection under the driver's seat. Check the crash sensor cables and plugs; these are often the cause of SRS light issues. Has the car been in an accident?

Thanks for the advice! I will check the connections under the seat. I haven't had any accidents with the car, but is it possible that the connections could become loose over time due to vibrations or something similar?

Yes, vibrations and general wear and tear can definitely cause those connections to loosen or corrode over time. Given the symptoms, it's likely a connection issue, but I would suggest a workshop visit. They will be able to pinpoint the exact location of the problem.

Thanks a lot for your help! I took it to the workshop, and it turned out to be a defective plug connection as suspected. They fixed it for 95€. The airbag light is now off. I really appreciate the advice!
