Auris Audio System Failure
Summary of the thread
The audio system in a 2017 Toyota Auris is completely non-functional despite the fuses being intact. A potential cause could be a short in a speaker, particularly the bass speaker, which might disable the entire system. It is recommended to have a professional technician diagnose the issue, as a similar problem was resolved by replacing a faulty speaker.

Thanks. I didn't notice any sound degradation before it failed. Could a bad bass speaker really kill the whole system?

It did in my case. Apparently, a short in the speaker can take down the whole system, like a fuse blowing but without the fuse actually blowing. I'd get it to a workshop for proper diagnosis.

Understood. Thanks for sharing your experience. I'll get a technician to check the speaker and system. Repair cost was 280€ due to a bad speaker.

I had a similar problem with my Auris sound system. Did the sound quality get worse before it died? Could be a bad speaker, especially the bass one. Like a lightbulb flickering before it goes.
