Good point about the alternator. If it was the issue, wouldn't that be constant, not intermittent? The battery is four years old. Could it really cause such widespread failures?

Four years is getting up there for a battery. Even if the alternator's mostly okay, a dying battery can cause voltage fluctuations. The ECU is probably freaking out from the inconsistent power. I'd suggest taking it to a trusted mechanic. Overvoltage can do serious damage.

Thanks for the guidance! I took it to a mechanic and the battery was the issue. A replacement and clearing the codes cost 290€. A failing battery can really mess up a modern car's electrical system.

Sounds rough! Overvoltage is serious, it can fry components. That weak battery is suspicious. Have you checked the alternator output? If it's pushing too many volts, that'll overload everything. Also, how old is the battery?
