Auris transmission issues

I own a 2016 Toyota Auris hybrid, with 76378 km. Recently, I've experienced issues with the transmission. Specifically, paddle shifters are non-responsive, the gearbox slips and shifts roughly, accompanied by grinding noises. The paddle shifters respond slowly, and the gearbox seems to be in emergency mode. Error codes are stored. Could this be a control unit malfunction?

Sounds familiar. Check the transmission control unit. Have you had any issues with it before?

No prior issues, but could a defective control unit really cause all these symptoms?

Potentially. Control unit failure often leads to erratic shifting and error codes. I saw similar on a Lexus once. Best to get a proper diagnosis at a workshop.

Thanks for the insight. I took it to a mechanic, and it was indeed a defective transmission control unit. Repair cost me about 1000€.
