That's a good question. I should check the compressor, but how do I tell if it's overcompensating? What should I look for besides just listening?

Easy way is to just feel the compressor after it's been running a bit. If it's super hot, that's a sign it's working overtime. A shop can confirm, though.

I appreciate the insight. I'll give that info to the repair shop. Turns out the bellows valve was defective and the repairs cost 590€. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.
