Avalon Headlight Range Control Issue
Summary of the thread
The headlight range control issue on a 2016 Toyota Avalon was causing low beams to shine too low, accompanied by an error code and warning light. After checking fuses and connectors, the problem was suspected to be a defective servomotor. A similar issue was noted by another person, suggesting the auto-leveling system might be involved. Ultimately, the servomotor was confirmed as the cause and was replaced by a mechanic, resolving the issue.

Interesting, could be! I didn't even think about the auto-leveling. What was going on with yours when you had that issue? Was it also a headlight malfunction?

Yep, same symptoms. Low beams aimed at the ground. Honestly, I'd get it to a workshop. Could be the control module or something more complicated. Saves a lot of messing about.

Thanks for the advice! I took it to my local mechanic, and you were spot on – it was indeed the servomotor in the headlight. Ended up costing me 1040€ to fix, but at least it's sorted. Appreciate the help!

I had a similar problem with my Avalon, though I can't remember the exact error code. Is it possible that it's the auto-leveling system acting up?
