Avalon Hybrid electronic parking brake failure
Summary of the thread
The electronic parking brake on a 2020 Avalon Hybrid failed, with a warning light on the dashboard and an OBD scanner error related to the parking brake. The issue was identified as a defective brake caliper motor. After checking the fuses and confirming they were fine, the problem was resolved by replacing the faulty motor at a workshop.

The code points towards the brake caliper motor. Fuses seem fine, I checked the ones related to the braking system. Is there any way to test the motor directly?

If the code is pointing at the caliper motor and the fuses are good, it pretty much confirms the motor itself is the culprit. Unless you're comfortable with brake diagnostics, I'd suggest getting it to a workshop. Messing with the EPB without proper tools and knowledge can be risky.

Took it to a shop. They confirmed the electric motor in the brake caliper was defective and repaired it. Cost me 505€, but at least it's fixed.

Sounds frustrating! Is the error code specific? Could be a brake control module issue, but more likely the electric motor on the caliper itself. Have you checked the basic stuff like fuses?
