Yes, replacing the battery in the key fob completely resolved the issue. Although, to be on the safe side, maybe check with a workshop before replacing it yourself.

Thank you. Replacing the battery myself resolved the issues. The total repair cost was 37€.

I have an Avalon too, and had similar symptoms a while back. The key fob was acting up – sometimes it would work, sometimes it wouldn't. Did the range suddenly decrease?
