Avalon power windows failure after battery replacement
Summary of the thread
After replacing the battery in a 2018 Toyota Avalon hybrid, the power windows stopped functioning, and an error was recorded. This issue may be due to the window regulators losing their initialization. A suggested solution is to reset the window regulators by fully lowering and raising the windows while holding the button. If this procedure fails, it may require professional assistance to initialize the regulators, as was ultimately done at a workshop.

Thanks for the suggestion. I tried that procedure, but it didn't work. Do I need special tools or software to reset the window regulators?

No special tools should be necessary. However, it sounds like the reset procedure isn't working for you. In that case, there might be a deeper issue with the window motor or the regulator itself. If the usual reset does not work, I suggest you go to a workshop.

Thanks. I took it to a workshop and they initialized the window regulators for 290€. Appreciate the advice.

I had a similar issue with my Toyota Avalon (though not the same year). It sounds like your window regulator lost its initialization. Have you tried resetting the window regulators? Usually, you have to bring the window all the way down, then all the way up and hold the button for a few seconds. Does that do anything?
