Avalon Windshield Washer Heater Issue
Summary of the thread
A 2013 Toyota Avalon Hybrid owner is experiencing issues with the windshield washer heater, leading to frozen spray nozzles in cold weather. The problem is suspected to be related to the cable or plug connection, as no visible damage to the heating element was found. Another Avalon owner had a similar issue, which was resolved by addressing a faulty heater circuit at a workshop. It is recommended to seek professional repair to prevent further damage.

Yeah, that's the one! The washer motor itself seems to be working fine – I can hear it whirring, but nothing comes out when it's freezing. Did you manage to fix the issue yourself, or did you have to take it to a shop?

In my case, the issue was indeed the heating element. I wasn't able to resolve it myself and had to take it to a workshop. The error code pointed to a faulty heater circuit. I would recommend a similar course of action to avoid damaging other components.

Thanks for the info! I figured it might be something like that. I'll take it in and get it sorted. They quoted me around 95€ for the repair, so hopefully it won't be too painful.

I've got an Avalon too, and I had a similar issue with my washer heater. By 'washer heater', I assume you are referring to the small heating element near the washer nozzles that prevents them from freezing. Was the washer motor still working when you had this issue?
