Avancier crank sensor issue
Summary of the thread
A 2001 Honda Avancier owner experienced issues with the check engine light, reduced power, poor response, and increased fuel consumption, suspecting a faulty crank sensor affecting the crankshaft to camshaft reference value. Another individual confirmed similar symptoms in their experience, suggesting a professional diagnosis to verify the crank sensor issue. The owner later confirmed that replacing the crank sensor resolved the problems.

No recent work, that's the weird part. Just started happening. So you think it's the crank sensor too? What were your symptoms?

Yes, the symptoms you describe sound very familiar to the issues I encountered. I would recommend taking your Avancier to a trusted workshop for a proper diagnosis. It could be the crank sensor, but professional verification is always advisable.

Thanks for the input! Turns out it was the crank sensor as suspected. Replaced it, cost me 340€ all in, and everything's back to normal.

I'm sorry to hear you're experiencing issues with your Honda Avancier. I had a similar problem a while back. Was there any recent work done on the timing belt, or any other engine work that may have disturbed the sensor?
