Avancier rear window heating issue
Summary of the thread
A 2003 Honda Avancier had a rear window heating issue, with the error memory storing an error and the windshield heating not functioning. A heavily discharged or defective battery was suspected as the cause. Replacing the original battery resolved the heating issues, confirming the battery was the root cause.

The windshield heating is completely dead. The battery is probably original. Could that be the reason for my car defrost malfunction?

Yeah, a completely dead windshield heater and an original battery on a 2003 car? I'd bet money that's your problem. Those batteries don't last forever. Honestly, with those symptoms and the age of the battery, I'd just get it tested and probably replaced. It's likely the root cause of your rear defroster issue too. But it might be a good idea to go to the workshop to be 100% sure.

Thanks, I appreciate the input. I replaced the battery, and the rear window heating is working again. The workshop confirmed it. Cost me 290€ in the end.

Hey there! Hmmm, that's a weird one. When you say 'not working correctly' for the windshield heating, what exactly do you mean? Is it just weak, or completely dead? And how old is your battery? A weak battery can definitely cause some funky electrical issues in these cars.
