Avantime outside temperature sensor issue

I'm having a weird issue with my 2003 Renault Avantime diesel. The outside temperature sensor seems to be toast. I'm getting an error code, the AC won't kick on, my windshield washer nozzles are freezing up even when it's not that cold, and the heated mirrors are dead. Could this all really be down to one little sensor? I'm suspecting a bad connection somewhere, but where do I even start looking?

Sounds like it could be the culprit. All those systems rely on the temperature reading. Have you checked the sensor's wiring and plug connection? Is there any visible corrosion or damage?

Yeah, I had a quick look, but couldn't spot anything obvious. Where exactly is the sensor located on the Avantime? Maybe I missed something.

It's often behind the front bumper, but I'm not 100% sure on the Avantime. Given all the symptoms, and that you couldn't find a fault in the cable or plug, I'd recommend getting it checked out by a workshop. A faulty sensor can cause a lot of headaches.

Thanks for the advice! Took it to a shop, and you were spot on – it was the sensor and a corroded connector. 95€ later, everything's working perfectly again. Appreciate the help!
