Avantime radar sensor error

Hello, I have a 2003 Renault Avantime with a gasoline engine. I'm getting an error message in the speedometer, and there's an error stored in the error memory related to the radar sensor. This is causing various systems to fail, and the warning light is on. The car only has 48138 km. Could it be a sensor malfunction?

I know this issue! I've had a similar problem with my Avantime. Is the error message persistent, or does it come and go?

It's pretty persistent. Comes on almost immediately after starting the car. Where was the sensor located on yours?

Sounds very familiar. Mine was indeed a dirty sensor causing havoc. I'd suggest getting it checked at a workshop; they can diagnose it properly and give you a solution.

Thanks for the advice! It was indeed a dirty sensor. Cleaned it, and the issue is resolved. Cost me 45€ for the cleaning. Much appreciated!
