Avantime Tire Pressure Sensor Issue

I've got a 2002 Renault Avantime with a diesel engine and a weird tire pressure monitoring system issue. The display says the tire pressure is too low, and the warning light is on. I checked the tires manually, and they're fine. An OBD scanner shows an error code related to the tire pressure sensors. I'm guessing the sensor batteries are empty. Has anyone else had this?

Avantime owner here! I had similar symptoms a while back. Check the sensors themselves. They're pretty sensitive and can cause issues even when the pressure is spot on. Does it happen on all tires?

Thanks! It seems to be happening on all four tires intermittently. Sometimes it's fine, sometimes the warning pops up. Could it still be the sensors even if it's happening on all of them?

Yep, pretty sure it's the sensors. I went through the same thing. Changing the batteries on those things are fiddly. I'd say take it to a garage, they'll know exactly what's up. Trust me, worth the cost.

Thanks! I took it to a workshop and you were right, it was indeed the tire pressure sensors as you suspected. All four sensor batteries were empty. Got them replaced for about 280€. Problem solved.
