Thanks for the tip! When you say wiring harness, are you referring to the one inside the steering column or closer to the wiper motor itself? Was there a specific connector that was causing the problem?

Yeah, I was referring to the one inside the steering column. If I remember correctly the problem was a loose pin in the connector block, but I'd check the whole thing, because diagnosing stuff like that can be very time consuming and difficult, especially if you don't have a proper wiring diagram. In the end, I just took it to a workshop. Saved me a load of hassle.

Thanks. I appreciate the insight. I was able to fix the car. I didn't diagnose the issue myself but I decided to take it to the local workshop. Turns out you were right with your suggestions. The workshop was able to fix a defective plug connection in the steering column for 95€.

Sounds familiar! I had something similar happen on my Avantime. I remember the issue being with the wiring harness near the steering column. Check those connections carefully before you tear anything else apart. It could also be the wiper motor itself. Did you test that?
