Fault code? Where do I find that?

The check engine light triggers a fault code that is saved in the car's computer. You need an OBD2 scanner to read it. Given the overheating, it's probably best to take it to a workshop for diagnosis. The flap motor being defective sounds right and will be expensive. I would expect around 590€ for the repair.

Thanks. I took it to the workshop, and you were right. Defective flap motor. They quoted 590€, just like you said. Repair completed.

Overheating is a serious symptom. An active air flap manages airflow to help the engine warm up quickly and maintain optimal temperature. If it's stuck closed, that could definitely cause overheating. Is there a fault code?
