Avensis seat massage not working

Experiencing an issue with my 2016 Toyota Avensis gasoline engine (191853 km). The driver's seat massage function isn't working at all. I scanned the car and there's an error stored related to the seat massage. Fuses are fine. Anyone seen this before?

I had a similar problem with my Avensis. The massage chair just stopped. Did you check the cable and plug connections under the seat? They come loose or get damaged sometimes. The massage function uses a small motor, and a faulty connection will stop it. Worth a look before replacing parts. Do you hear any clicking when you try to turn on the massage?

Thanks. I'll check the cable and plug connections. When you had the issue, did the error memory also show a fault related to the seats, and was it also a complete failure? No clicking at all when I try to turn it on.

Yes, the error memory showed a fault related to the seat motor, and the massage chair was completely dead, no sounds. Since you've checked the fuses, there's no clicking, and I had a similar experience, it's likely a defective cable or plug connection. I'd recommend a workshop look at it. Mine was a broken wire, and they found it fast.

Appreciate the confirmation and advice. I'll take it to a workshop to inspect the cable and plug connections. Seems like a likely cause based on your experience. It was a defective cable. Repair cost 95€
