Aveo rough running and stalling

Hi, I'm having trouble with my 2014 Chevrolet Aveo diesel. It's got about 167k kilometers on the clock. Recently, the check engine light has come on, and the engine is running rough, especially at idle where it sometimes stalls. I've also noticed some jerking when accelerating. I suspect it might be related to the fuel pressure sensor. I've checked the sensor itself, and it seems okay, but the cable and plug connection look a bit suspect. Has anyone else experienced something similar?

Summary of the thread

The 2014 Chevrolet Aveo diesel is experiencing rough running, stalling, and a check engine light, particularly at idle and during acceleration. The suspected cause is an issue with the fuel pressure sensor, specifically the cable and plug connection, which appears brittle and loose. A suggestion to check the fuel pump relay was made, but ultimately, the problem was resolved by replacing the faulty connector, eliminating the symptoms.

Did this summary help you solve your problem?

Hey, I had a similar issue with my Aveo. Check engine light, rough running, and stalling. Not fun! Have you checked the fuel pump relay? Also, when you say the cable and plug connection look suspect, what exactly did you notice?

Thanks for the quick response! I haven't checked the fuel pump relay yet, that's a good shout. As for the cable and plug, the insulation on the wires looks a bit brittle and cracked, and the plug itself seems a little loose. I'm wondering if that could be causing an intermittent connection and throwing off the fuel pressure readings. Did your symptoms clear up after addressing a similar wiring issue?

Yeah, the symptoms sound pretty much identical to what I had. To be honest, I didn't mess with the wiring myself. I took it straight to the workshop, and they sorted it out. Saved me a lot of headache in the long run. Probably best to get it checked by a professional.

Thanks, I appreciate the advice. I'll take it to the workshop. Turns out it was the fuel pressure sensor cable/plug connection. They replaced the connector, and all the symptoms are gone. Cost me 95€, but worth it for a smooth-running engine again!
