Avventura Battery Sensor Issue

My 2016 Fiat Avventura (gasoline engine) is giving me fits. 172559 km on the clock. The battery seems weak when starting, and the lights are flickering like a disco. I'm betting it's the battery sensor acting up. Anyone else seen this gremlin?

Sounds familiar! I've got an Avventura too. Had similar symptoms a while back. Did you check the voltage on the battery when the engine is running? What's it reading?

Good call on checking the running voltage! I haven't yet. But if the voltage is off, does that pretty much confirm the sensor is toast? Just trying to narrow down the possibilities before I start throwing parts at it.

For me, a wonky voltage reading was the giveaway. Could be other things, sure, but the sensor is the prime suspect. Honestly, save yourself the headache and get it checked at a workshop. They can properly diagnose it.

Workshop it is. Thanks for confirming my suspicions. Turns out it was the battery sensor! Replaced it, and the flickering is gone. Cost me 315€, but at least she starts like a champ again. Cheers!
