Avventura Intermittent Starting Issue
Summary of the thread
A 2018 Fiat Avventura diesel with 122,266 km is experiencing intermittent starting issues, stalling at idle, a constant check engine light, rough running, and increased fuel consumption. The problem is suspected to be related to the fuel pump, possibly due to a faulty cable or plug connection. After consulting with others and visiting a workshop, it was confirmed that a defective cable connection to the fuel pump was the cause, and the issue was resolved with a repair.

No, I haven't had any work done on the fuel system recently. That's why I'm scratching my head. Was your issue also intermittent? And did you notice any difference in performance or fuel consumption before it completely failed?

Yes, the issue was intermittent at first, then it got progressively worse. Given your symptoms and mileage, I would strongly advise getting it checked by a workshop. It could be a faulty connection, but diagnosis is key.

I took it to a local workshop and you were right - it turned out to be a defective cable connection to the fuel pump! Repair cost was 95€, which is a relief. Thanks again for your help!

I also own an Avventura with a similar engine. Your symptoms sound very familiar. I had similar issues with engine stalling and the check engine light. Have you had any work done recently on the fuel system?
