Avventura Transmission Issues

My 2014 Fiat Avventura diesel is acting up. The MIL is on, plus I'm getting transmission warning lights. The error memory is full, the gearbox is limping in emergency mode, shifts are sloppy, and there's a grinding noise when shifting. Symptoms are pointing me to the transmission oil pressure sensor, what gives?

A 2014 Fiat Avventura diesel was experiencing transmission issues, including a malfunction indicator light, transmission warning lights, and grinding noises. The initial suspicion was a faulty transmission oil pressure sensor. However, it was suggested to check the gearbox oil level first. After topping off the gearbox oil, the issues were resolved, indicating that low oil was the cause.

I had similar transmission issues with my Avventura. Check your gearbox oil level first. Low oil can cause those symptoms.

Interesting, you think low oil could really be the cause? The sensor fault seemed pretty definitive. Did your symptoms clear up just by topping off the oil?

It's worth a shot before tearing into the sensor. If the level is fine, you'll need to visit a workshop. Hopefully it is just the oil level.

Topped off the gearbox oil and the gremlins vanished! MIL's gone, shifts are smooth, and the grinding's history. Cost me 365€ at the shop. Appreciate the heads-up, saved me a fortune!
