Aygo Cylinder Pressure Fuel Consumption

I've got a head-scratcher with my 2006 Toyota Aygo diesel. It's done 144138 km and recently I've noticed fluctuating cylinder pressures causing higher fuel consumption, a noticeable drop in engine power, and the check engine light. I've checked the timing belt, camshaft, and head gasket. Spark plugs are fine. Compression seems relatively even across the cylinders. Is it possible that this is a consequential error resulting from another, underlying issue?

Sounds familiar! I had something similar happen with my Aygo. Check engine light, the whole shebang. Is your fuel consumption REALLY bad? Mine was guzzling juice like it was going out of style.

Yeah, the fuel consumption is definitely up, maybe 15-20% higher than usual. Did you ever manage to figure out what the root cause was? Was it something obvious, or did you have to tear half the engine apart?

I never actually got to the bottom of it myself. I took it to a workshop and they sorted it out for me. I'd recommend doing the same, before it gets worse.

Cheers for the advice. I took it to the workshop as suggested and you were spot on! Turns out, it was a sensor issue throwing everything else off. They reset the error codes and it cost me nothing! Running perfectly now.
