Aygo Diesel Engine Running Lean
Summary of the thread
A 2005 Toyota Aygo diesel is experiencing symptoms of running lean, including a drop in power, a check engine light, and rough running, particularly during acceleration. The initial suspicion is a faulty injector, but a vacuum leak in the intake manifold is also considered a potential cause. The suggested solution is to have the vehicle inspected by a professional, as a similar issue was resolved by replacing a faulty injector.

Interesting. I hadn't thought about the intake manifold. Where exactly should I be looking for leaks, and is there an easy way to check?

Honestly, tracing vacuum leaks can be a pain. It's like finding a needle in a haystack, but with engine grease instead of hay. I messed around with it for a bit, but in the end, I caved and took it to a workshop. Turns out it was a faulty injector. Cost me a bit, but at least it's sorted now.

Thanks for the heads-up! I'll probably take it to a shop then. My local garage said it was the fuel injectors. Quoted me 515€, but at least it'll be fixed. Appreciate the advice!

Sounds rough. I had similar issues with my Aygo a while back. Check engine light, loss of power... the whole shebang. Have you looked at the intake manifold? Could be a vacuum leak messing with the air-fuel ratio. It felt like driving a kangaroo when accelerating - constantly jerking around!
