Aygo Engine Stalling
Summary of the thread
A 2009 Toyota Aygo is experiencing engine stalling at idle, with the check engine light indicating incorrect fuel composition. The issue may be due to a defective cable or plug connection, especially given the vehicle's mileage. A similar case was resolved by addressing a faulty connection affecting the fuel mixture. It is advised to have a professional inspection to confirm and fix the problem, which was indeed identified as a cable issue.

I appreciate the response. I haven't noticed any engine knock. You mention a similar experience with your Aygo; was your issue eventually related to the fuel system, or was it something else entirely?

Yeah, it turned out to be a faulty connection messing with the fuel mixture. Drove me nuts trying to figure it out! I would definitely get it checked out by a professional; better safe than sorry. Cost me about 95€ all in.

Thank you for the additional details. I will schedule a workshop visit to inspect the cable and plug connections of the fuel system, with a focus on the fuel mixture. Diagnosis confirmed the cable was the problem. Your advice was very helpful.

Incorrect fuel composition, huh? Sounds familiar! I had similar symptoms with my Aygo – engine light, rough idle, the whole shebang. Have you checked the fuel filter or considered the fuel quality itself? Could be a build-up in the combustion chamber. Is the engine knocking at all?
