Aygo handsfree microphone failure

I have a 2020 Toyota Aygo with a gasoline engine and 90051 km on it. The hands-free microphone system isn't working; telephony is impossible. A diagnostic scan shows an error in the memory, probably for the microphone. I've tried basic steps like checking Bluetooth and restarting the infotainment, but nothing works. Has anyone had similar issues or have any ideas?

Sounds like a defective infotainment unit. Did the sound quality degrade gradually, or did the issue appear suddenly? Did you notice increased ambient noise during calls before it failed? If the error log points to the infotainment, the microphone itself is likely not the problem.

Thanks. The issue appeared suddenly, without any sound degradation or noise increase. Given this and the error log, could a software glitch be the cause, or is hardware more likely?

Sudden failure points more towards hardware. A software glitch might cause intermittent problems, but complete telephony failure and a stored error usually indicate a component malfunction within the infotainment system itself. Microphone repair isn't likely the solution. I'd recommend a professional diagnosis at a certified workshop to confirm the defect and explore replacement or repair options.

Thanks for the help. I scheduled an appointment with a certified workshop for a diagnosis. A new Infotainment system was necessary, costing 815€.
