Aygo oxygen sensor heater circuit fault
Summary of the thread
A 2007 Toyota Aygo with a diesel engine is experiencing a check engine light due to an oxygen sensor heater circuit fault, leading to increased fuel consumption. Possible causes include a bad cable or plug, or issues with the sensor's wiring and connector, such as damage or corrosion. A proper diagnosis from a workshop is recommended to accurately identify and resolve the issue.

Thanks. I visually inspected the wiring and connector, but I'm not sure if they're faulty. What specific signs of damage or corrosion should I look for?

In my case, the visual inspection didn't reveal much either. That’s the tricky part! The mechanic mentioned something about the internal resistance of the heater circuit being off. I'd suggest getting a proper diagnosis from a workshop. I paid 95€ for the repair.

Thanks for the advice. Given your experience, I'll consult a technician for a diagnosis and repair.

I had something similar with my Aygo. Same symptoms - check engine light, and the error code pointed to the oxygen sensor. An oxygen sensor measures the amount of oxygen in the exhaust gas. It helps the ECU maintain the correct air-fuel ratio. Did you check the sensor's wiring and connector for any damage or corrosion?
