Aygo weak battery and flickering lights

Hi, I'm having a strange issue with my 2005 Toyota Aygo diesel. It has 85937 km on the clock. Lately, the battery seems weak when starting, and the lights sometimes flicker, especially at idle. I've run some vehicle diagnostics and it points to a bad battery sensor, showing low voltage readings even when the battery should be charged. Any thoughts?

Whoa, sounds familiar! I had something similar happen with my Aygo. I'm no expert, but have you checked the battery terminals are clean? Could be something simple like that!

Thanks for the quick reply! I did check the terminals, they seemed ok. When you say 'similar', was it exactly the same symptoms, and did diagnostics also point to the battery sensor? Was the battery charge also very low?

Ok, so the terminals are clean... Hmm. My Aygo had the same weak battery symptoms and flickering lights. I didn't do the vehicle diagnostics myself, so I'm not sure if it was exactly the battery sensor. I took it to a shop, and they sorted it out, saying something about a voltage issue. Best to get it checked!

Appreciate the insight! I think I'll take it to a workshop then. The error code points to the sensor so I guess it has to be replaced. They quoted me 315€ for the repair. Thanks again!
