Barchetta fog sensor and AC issues
Summary of the thread
A 2004 Fiat Barchetta is experiencing issues with the fog sensor, air conditioning, frozen spray nozzles, and non-functional mirror heating. The suspected cause is a defective cable or plug connection. A similar problem on another vehicle was resolved by addressing a corroded connector, suggesting that checking the sensor connections and possibly a ground issue might be the solution. Booking a professional inspection at a garage is recommended to accurately diagnose and fix the problem.

Yeah, I've had a look at the connections, but I'm not really sure what I'm looking for. Where exactly did you find the issue on your Astra? Was it a corroded connector or a broken wire?

On the Astra, it was a corroded connector near the windshield washer pump. I'd recommend getting it checked at a workshop. Could be a similar issue, but tracing it yourself without proper tools can be a pain.

Okay, thanks for the tip. I'll book it in at the garage. The error memory says it's the fog sensor and they quoted 95€, so I'll get them to check the wiring as well.

Sounds familiar. I had similar symptoms on my old Opel Astra: climate control going haywire, plus some weird electrical gremlins. Have you checked the sensor connections? It might be a ground issue.
