Barchetta passenger seat unresponsive

Hi, I'm having a problem with the passenger electric seat in my 2004 Fiat Barchetta with a gasoline engine. The mileage is at 161809 km. I'm getting an error stored in the error memory, and the seat adjustment is completely unresponsive. I've checked the fuses and connections, and everything seems to be in order. Could a heavily discharged or defective battery cause this? I'm trying to avoid a costly workshop visit if it's something I can fix myself.
