Battery residual current error after door lock change

Hello everyone, I have a problem with my BMW 5 Series. After replacing the rear left door lock, the error 'battery rest current too high' is displayed after the car has been stationary for approx. 1 hour with ignition on. Interestingly, this error does not occur if I leave the affected door open, even for a longer period of time. Could the problem be related to a defective Hall sensor? How can I rectify this error? Many thanks in advance for your help!

After replacing the rear left door lock on a BMW 5 Series, an error indicating 'battery rest current too high' appears when the car is stationary for about an hour with the ignition on. The error does not occur if the door is left open. This issue might be related to a defective Hall sensor or improper wiring and connections causing excessive current draw. Checking and correcting the wiring and connections to the door lock may resolve the problem.

Check if the wiring and connections to the door lock are properly installed and not causing a short circuit. A pinched wire or incorrect connection could lead to excessive current draw. Let me know if this resolves the issue or if you need further assistance.
