Beat transfer case oil wear fault
Summary of the thread
A 2013 Chevrolet Beat with an electric engine is experiencing a transfer case oil wear fault and occasional gearbox slipping at 112,019 km. The issue may be due to defective gears in the transfer case. It is suggested to have the vehicle inspected at a workshop to prevent further damage, and a local shop confirmed the presence of defective gears, offering a repair solution.

Fluid was checked recently, seemed okay. Slipping is intermittent, mostly when cold. Transfer case itself, perhaps?

Okay, "seemed" okay isn't exactly confidence-inspiring. Intermittent issues are the worst. Defective gears are a possibility. I'd get it checked out at a workshop, better safe than sorry. Could be expensive if it gets worse.

Cheers. Local shop confirmed defective gears in the transfer case. Quoted 330€ for the repair. Thanks for the heads-up.

Slipping gears and a transfer case oil wear fault? Sounds rough. I had something similar with my old Subaru Forester, although it was more gear grinding than slipping. Was the transfer fluid ever changed? When did the slipping start?
