Berlingo active air flap issue
Summary of the thread
A 2019 Citroen Berlingo diesel is experiencing issues with the active air flap, indicated by a check engine light and overheating. The diagnostic check confirms the flap as the problem. This issue is not uncommon, as another owner reported similar symptoms, including overheating and engine temperature struggles, which required professional repair involving a new flap motor. It is advised to have the vehicle checked and repaired to resolve the issue.

That's interesting, thank you for your answer! I hadn't noticed the engine struggling to warm up, but I will pay closer attention. Did the issue resolve itself, or did you need to have it professionally serviced? I am trying to gauge the potential severity and expense.

Nah, it didn't fix itself. Unfortunately, I had to take it to a workshop. Turns out the electromechanism was buggered. New flap motor was needed. If your symptoms are the same, I reckon you're looking at a similar outcome. Best get it checked out properly.

I appreciate the confirmation. I feared as much, but it's good to hear from someone who has experienced the same issue. I'll get it booked in ASAP. They're quoting me around 590€ for the repair. Thanks again for your help!

Yep, had a similar headache with my Berlingo. Noticed the same symptoms – check engine light and the engine running hotter than it should. Though I didn't have a diagnostic check right away, it definitely sounds like the active air flap. Is the engine struggling to reach operating temperature too? That was happening with mine.
