Berlingo Active Hood Fault
Summary of the thread
A 2022 Citroen Berlingo owner experienced an "Active hood fault" message and a persistent airbag light, indicating a potential issue with the car's safety systems. The problem was traced to the spring actuators for the active hood being triggered, likely due to a faulty acceleration sensor in the collision detection system. The suggested solution was to visit a mechanic to address the defective sensor, which was confirmed as the cause and subsequently repaired.

It's pretty much constant now. By 'car sensor', are you referring to the acceleration sensor for the active hood? I read something about that being the issue.

Yeah, that's the one! In my case it was definitely the faulty sensor. The workshop told me it's a common problem with the collision detection system on these. I would take it to a mechanic asap, as it has something to do with car safety

Thanks! Sounds like I need to get it to a workshop. I was dreading it, but better safe than sorry, especially with the airbags involved. It was exactly that, the defective acceleration sensor. 315€ down the drain, but at least it's fixed.

That sounds familiar. I have a Berlingo, though I can't remember which year, and I had a similar thing happen a while back. Is it intermittent, or constant? Did you check the car sensor?
