Berlingo cold start issue

My 2004 Citroen Berlingo diesel is acting up. Mileage is at 179105 km. I'm getting poor engine running during cold starts, an error stored in the memory (haven't pulled the code yet), and the fuel consumption seems higher than usual. Suspect it's the PTC heater acting up. Anyone seen this before?

Sounds familiar. I've got a Berlingo too, and had similar symptoms last winter. Rough starts, felt like the engine was struggling to warm up, and I swear I was filling up the tank more often. Check your heating system and blower motor. Have you had the temperature control checked?

Thanks for the reply. When you had that issue, did the error clear itself, or did you need a heater repair? Also, approximately what was the cost involved?

Nah, the error didn't clear itself on mine. The higher fuel consumption was the giveaway. Ended up taking it to a workshop; they confirmed it was a defective electric auxiliary heater. I would suggest doing the same.

Cheers. Will take it to the workshop and check the PTC heater. Thanks for the advice.
