Berlingo diesel injection issue

My 2020 Citroen Berlingo diesel is starting poorly, fuel consumption seems higher, and the engine feels less powerful with 202k km. The idling is uneven, and sometimes it even stalls. Could a dirty injection valve cause all this?

Summary of the thread

These issues could be caused by a dirty or faulty injection valve. A similar case was resolved by replacing a defective injection nozzle, which restored the vehicle's performance.

I had similar issues with my Berlingo. Rough idling, poor starts... felt like misfires. Have you noticed any black smoke or unusual engine noises?

No black smoke, but there's a slight knocking sound sometimes, especially when it's cold. Was it the injection valve in your case too?

That knocking sound rings a bell. Ended up being a defective injection nozzle. Given the symptoms, it's worth getting it checked at a workshop.

Thanks for the advice! Took it to a mechanic, and you were spot on – faulty injection nozzle. Cost me 515€ to repair. Runs like new now!
