Berlingo low brake fluid brake pedal issue

I own a 2009 Citroen Berlingo with a diesel engine. The brake fluid level is low, and I'm experiencing strange feedback from the brake pedal. The vehicle has 35731 km on the clock. I've checked for obvious leaks, but found nothing. Any ideas?

I had a similar issue with my Berlingo. Check your brake lines carefully, especially near the rear axle. Also, when was the last time you had your brake fluid replaced?

Thanks for the tip. The brake fluid hasn't been replaced in my ownership, and I'm unsure when it was done before. Could that really cause the fluid level to drop and affect the brake pedal feel?

Yes, old fluid can cause problems, but a low level usually indicates a leak or worn brakes. Considering the pedal feel, I'd advise a workshop visit to check the brakes and hydraulic system thoroughly. It’s likely worn brakes.

Understood. I appreciate the advice. I took it to a workshop, and it turned out to be worn brakes, as you suggested. The repair, including fluid replacement, came to 480€ Thanks again.
