Berlingo oxygen sensor heater error

My 2004 Citroen Berlingo gasoline has 54538 km. The check engine light keeps popping on, and my fuel consumption has gone up. It's showing an error related to the oxygen sensor heater. The cable and plug look okay, but I'm no expert. Has anyone else experienced this? Is it likely a faulty sensor?

I had a similar issue with my Berlingo. Same symptoms: malfunction indicator on, higher fuel consumption and an error stored in the error memory. In my case, it was also related to the oxygen sensor. Have you done any sensor testing or checked the exhaust system for leaks?

Thanks for the reply! No, I haven't done any sensor testing, and I didn't check the exhaust system. I'm not really sure how to test the sensor. Could you give me a bit more detail, or was the solution complicated?

Given the symptoms and the error code, it's very likely a faulty sensor or a defective connection like you mentioned. I didn't have the tools to properly diagnose it myself, so I took it to a workshop. They confirmed it was the oxygen sensor heater circuit that was faulty. It's best to get it checked by a professional to avoid damaging other components.

Thanks for the advice! I took your suggestion and went to a workshop. They confirmed it was a defective connection, as I initially suspected. Cost me 95€ to get it sorted. Really appreciate the help!
